Many companies regularly survey employees on their levels of satisfaction. If your organization adapts this appproach, score the results after each survey is completed and discuss them with a cross-section of the employees who took it.

Then:

  • Document the results.
  • Detail the action steps you'll take based on the results.
  • Distribute this information to everyone in your organization.
  • When you administer surveys regularly and act on concerns that they reveal, employees become comfortable participating.

As the percentage of employees answering surveys grows, the feedback you'll receive will become more accurate because people will begin using the process as a communication vehicle to bring their concerns to senior management's attention.
